Zotac SAM102 netbook, NewEgg Black Friday online deals
By: Peter Chubb | November 27, 2009 | 2 CommentsThere does not seem to be an end to laptop deals on Black Friday, but we have not mentioned many netbooks. While looking around the Newegg website we came across the Zotac SAM102 netbook. Most of you will be wondering who they are, but this company makes a number of hardware components that are inside our everyday computers.
The SAM102 is a light, powerful and long-lasting netbook and weighs just 2.8 pounds. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) and 1GB of RAM, with support for up to 2GB. The Intel GMA 950 supplies the graphics.
The Zotac SAM102 has a 10-inch WSVGA display and has a 95% keyboard, so should not take that long to adjust to the smaller size. To help save on battery power, the screen is LED lit, this is just one of a number of power saving features.
Other features include a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 3-in-1 card reader, Wi-Fi and stereo speakers. There is a downside to this netbook though it is a barebones system. This means that there is no hard drive and no operating system installed.
Newegg is offering the netbook for only $149.99 following a $50 mail-in rebate.
