Walmart vs. Amazon: Philips 7-inch portable DVD player on Black Friday
By: Peter Chubb | November 27, 2009
There have been a huge amount of Black Friday deals spoken about already, mostly on TVs, laptops and GPS systems but not on a portable DVD player. We thought that we would look out for a deal for you and came across this Philips 7-inch portable DVD player, the funny thing is, Walmart and Amazon are both offering a deal on the device.
Before we get down to the price, let us talk a little about the product. This portable DVD player comes with a 7-inch TFT LCD screen. The small device can play DVD discs and reproduce them at 16:9 widescreen. You can even play CDs and MP3 files as well.
This portable DVD player has a battery life of 2 hours before you need to recharge the device, more than enough for most movies. Just make certain that you do not try to watch Lord of the Rings or something like that while you are out, you will get a third of the way through and will miss the best parts of the movie.
The Philips 7-inch portable DVD player is very simple to use and its stereo speakers are just good enough to listen to your chosen movie, but they will not blow your mind.
Now down to the price, Amazon normally sells the item for $99.99, but is now offering it for $87.99. However, Wal-Mart has a much better deal, just $49. I bet I know where you will be ordering yours from.
