Confirmed: Chevy Camaro Convertible and 2011 Buick Regal
Filed under: Autos

We have been waiting some time for GM to confirm production plans of two highly anticipated models, the Chevy Camaro Convertible and 2011 Buick Regal. Thankfully that conformation has finally come, funny thing is, the news was right there all the time, Autoblog just had a hard time seeing it.
The 2011 Buick Regal is based on the Opel Insignia that has been doing very well in Europe, just a shame that those in the U.S. have to wait for another year to see this new vehicle. Production will begin in the first part of 2011 at the Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant.
The other piece of good news is that the Camaro Convertible will also go in to production at the same plant. This awesome looking car was first seen as a concept at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. General Motors has been sitting on the idea for some time now, so nice to see that the drop-top will go ahead.
Production of the Camaro Convertible will also begin in Q1 of 2011, so that plant will be very busy, what with that other model. Head over to Autoblog for the full press release.
