Apple App Store: 20 classic rejections
By: Peter Chubb | November 27, 2009 | Leave a CommentNo one could have ever imaged the success of the Apple App Store, there are more than 100,000 apps in the system now and more are being added all the time. There would have been many more apps, but Apple has a very strict policy about what they let in.
There are some great apps but it is a shame that some have not been allowed into the App Store family. Tech Radar thought that they would take this opportunity to list 20 classic rejections of the App Store. No doubt they are doing this as it is Black Friday so have some spare time on their hands.
A lot has been said about Apple’s approval process; Google Voice was rejected because of this process, much to the annoyance of iPhone users. So what other apps has Apple stopped us gaining access to?
Te first is 0870; this app from Simon Maddox converted any 0870 number into a standard landline number. This meant that we could make cheaper calls; this was rejected but thankfully was allowed back on.
Another great app was Chess War; this app was in the review stage for six weeks before being rejected. The only thing that was wrong with this app was how it had text bubbles within the app like the bubbles seen on Apple’s iPhone SMS feature.
