Walmart has cheapest Black Friday GPS deal
Filed under: Electronics, GPS

It is amazing how fast the price of GPS systems has fallen in recent years, not long ago you would have had to pay more than $300 for a decent model, that price has now been reduced dramatically. Prices are set to fall even more over Black Friday, with Walmart offering the cheapest prices.
According to USA Today, there is one TomTom GPS model that has fallen to as low as $59 in the upcoming sales. This is all part of Walmart’s doorbuster deals, USA Today reckons that a GPS for less than $50 is not that far away. Who knows, maybe Monday.
Best Buy does not have a GPS system that cheap, but they will be offering a Garmin system for $99. If you do not want to go out of the comfort of your own home, then Amazon have a deal on a Garmin nuvi, the price is just $119, that is almost half the normal selling price.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2009 will see a battle between TomTom and Garmin; both GPS systems offer great features for its users each in their own unique way. The Apple iPhone has been trying to take the challenge to both, with Apple even teaming up with TomTom with an app. The less said about that, the better.
However, Google Android phones seem to offer a far more superior turn-by-turn directions than the iPhone can, maybe this is due to the power of Google. Let us know if you use a dedicated GPS system or if you have decided to use your smartphone instead.
