MSI GT740 and GT640: Core i7 gaming laptops released

Good news for gamers looking to pick up a new bit of hardware, as specialists MSI has added another laptop to their popular lineup. We previously told you about the GT640 here, but now MSI has given details on the newest addtion – the GT740.

As reported from TechWatch, both laptops will feature the same specs consisting of Core i7 processors, nVIDA GeForce GTS 250M graphics with 1GB dedicated memory, 4GB of RAM, Blu-Ray drive, 640GB hard drive, and HDMI.

Those are rather beastly specs you have to say, so the £1349 / £1399 price tag won’t surprise you right? The differences between the two is that the new GT740 features surround sound – consisting of four speakers and a subwoofer. You’ll also get a 17-inch display with the GT740, while the GT640 will only have stereo speakers and a 15.4-inch display. Both laptops will also run on Windows 7.
