Microsoft Office 2010: Expectations and Google Apps Threat
By: Peter Chubb | November 26, 2009 | 2 CommentsMicrosoft is preparing to launch a number of business application, which is all part of their new Office 2010 Suite. Those who choose to take part in this public testing have great expectations; we just hope that Microsoft deliver on their promise. Take a look at Office 2010 Beta here.
Windows and Office are a big deal for Microsoft, they have already delivered what is thought to be a great operating system with Windows 7, and so users expect much the same from Office 2010.
More than 90 percent of computer users run Windows, so a huge portion of them will be running some sort of Office program, but the current software is a few years out of date now. Those who have upgraded to Windows 7 will want to ditch their old office program in favor of the new Office program.
Microsoft has always been dominant when it comes to office programs, but the market has changed, Google is now competing in that market. Google Apps has become a very popular suite of office products, so Microsoft will have to their game if they ever hope to slow its success.
