Modern Warfare 2 giving Xbox 360’s RROD

You could easily believe that the Xbox 360’s “Red Ring of Death” is a thing of the past, but according to a post on thegamesmen.com, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is giving Xbox 360’s RROD.

You would expect new games to stretch systems to their limits, the gamer wants developers to use every bit of power their games system has, but not to brick it.

The site said reports have been coming in over four days, they say, “Xbox 360’s could very well be dropping like flies”. They then continue to point the blame at Call of Duty’s MW2, saying that this game is giving systems RROD that are “two years or older”.

While they did say newer Elite Xbox 360’s were running the game fine, is Modern Warfare 2 too much for older systems? Have a read of their article, and then share your thoughts.

Today, during play of Modern Warfare 2 (team deathmatch)my system RROD. This is the third console now I have had with this error. This current machine was at least two years old (since my last replacement). So this makes sense if what you are reporting is true. I keep my figures crossed for speedy service and better testing for Microsoft’s future products.
