HTC HD2: Windows Mobile 7 Update in 2010?

This next post is only a rumor at the moment, however if it turns out to be true it could be good for those of you who have purchased the HTC HD2.

According to a recent article on msmobiles it seems as if a reliable source has reason to believe that HTC will offer a Windows Mobile 7 upgrade for the HD2 when the mobile OS is released.

Windows Mobile 7 isn’t expected until the latter half of 2010 (possibly Q4 release), therefore whether HTC will then be concentrating on year old handsets is in my opinion doubtful, I guess time will tell.

Currently this ‘reliable source’ is unnamed therefore the legitimacy of this news is very questionable, however as we hear anything else regarding this story we will keep you posted, for more details check out SlashGear.

Thanks for quashing this crazy rumor. I also think that it is doubtful that any upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 will be given to current owners of the HTC HD2, especially when no official undertaking was given. I think the other publication that originally posted this rumor was not doing the best for its readers.

Also, what’s the latest on the HD2 camera defect that makes photos turn pink? A number of sites have reported it, and apparently HTC has responded in some way.
