Far Cry 3: Release confirmed for Xbox 360, PS3

Some exciting news to report for Far Cry fans now, as although an official statement has yet to be made by Ubisoft, one writer for the company has confirmed that the title is ‘already’ in development. Oops!

As reported from Eurogamer, Kevin Shortt is a scriptwriter for Ubisoft and confirmed the news to the official UK Playstation Magazine at a press event for Avatar – an upcoming 3D-capable game due out at the start of the December.

He said that he himself wasn’t working on Far Cry 3, but added: ”I know the team are and what I’ve seen looks pretty exciting.”

An early leak from a Ubisoft employee, we cant help but feel that Kevin has some answering to do. Let us know your thoughts on a third game in the series.

    From what I experienced with FarCry 2, I think I’ll be staying clear of this one. I’ll wait for Crysis for glorious eye candy!

    crysis is a different kind of shooter than farcry 2 was. crysis is jungle warfare with nanosuit superpowers, they just complicate things i think. but farcry 2 was an attempt to create a non-scripted open world fps where the player was in control of his missions. you choose your weapons/route to mission. a great idea. but it was not without flaws: no prone ability, multiplayer( ok i guess ). but if you like explosions and speading fire/ strategy fps than it was your thing. oh and when you get shot you see a cool animation of your guy ripping bullets out of himself with plyers and culderizing it with a handfull of matches. epiK and hard at times.
