Chrome OS boots in mere seconds from USB key
By: Peter Chubb | November 25, 2009 | 1 CommentSince Google unveiled Chrome OS to the world a few days ago, many people have been giving the upcoming operating system a trail to see how well it performs. Engadget have now prepped for Chrome OS to boot from a USB key, having it boot natively makes a huge difference.
Engadget knew that having Chrome boot natively instead of virtualized was always going to be better, they also state that it now performs just like a stripped-down OS as it boots up in seconds, website also loads much quicker than before.
Engadget was given the build from @hexxeh on Twitter. With the virtualized version of Google Chrome OS, you could not load into the apps pane; this was resolved with the native version. There is still a long way to go with this software, so will not worry Linux just yet.
Once Google Chrome OS is made available on partnered netbook devices, we can see a new love affair starting. The new operating system from Google is both simple and fast, and once all the bugs are ironed out, will be a match for Windows.
