Stork Craft Crib Recall: Storkcraft Cribs Responsible for Deaths

Following on from our story yesterday, “Crib Recall Expected: Cribs with Dropdown Sides”. We now have conformation of the cribs affected by this recall. Stork Craft Manufacturing is recalling 2.1 million of their cribs after reports of a dozen child deaths.

According to inquisitr.com, more than a dozen deaths or injuries were caused due to these cribs, which are sold under the name Fisher-Price cribs. We mentioned in our article yesterday that these cribs are those with the dropdown sides, we learned that the cause was due to faulty pegs.

There were also another 15 incidents but thankfully, the children were saved in time. The faulty peg can cause the side to drop from the rail but have just enough gap for a baby or small infant to get stuck in, as a result they would end up chocking.

All cribs manufactured by Stork Craft from January 1993 are to be recalled, these include those sold at Kmart, Sears, Walmart, Amazon and many more retailers. For more information on this, visit CNN Money
