
Kindle Firmware Update: Boosts Battery Life + More
By: Jamie Pert | November 24, 2009 | Leave a CommentAmazon have recently announced a new firmware update for their Kindle ebook reader, this update is quite significant and should drastically improve your Kindle experience.
The update is said to boost battery life by up-to 85 percent, according to SlashGear with this update installed the Kindle will run for up to seven days with wireless connectivity turned on, previously you were looking at a maximum of around four days.
There has also been a native PDF reader added to the device with this update, Amazon suggest that they have been working on this update for six months, all new Kindle devices will have this firmware update as standard.
If you already own a Kindle the update is said to arrive via Whispernet, however we do not know exactly when this update will be rolled out.
