Chrome OS tested under VirtualBox virtualization software

Not to be confused with Google’s web browser, the Chrome OS is their latest project that has caused a lot of talk in the tech world. Google’s upcoming operating system is certainly a work in progress, but still impressive.

Computer World has wrote a 2-page article that takes a closer look at Chrome OS, which was tested running in a virtual machine under VirtualBox virtualization software.

In their review, Computer World explain that the operating system has a handful of system features, which have been wrapped around Google’s Chrome browser. The current controls mainly let you perform tasks like managing user accounts, customization, and printing.

Chrome OS is currently tied to Web-browsing, and you even need a Google account to login. The OS will not use a hard disk or run applications on its own, and it’s in very early stages of design.

Find out how Computer World got on with their hands-on review here. Feel free to hit the comments with your current thoughts on Chrome OS.
