Nintendo Wii Pay-per-view Service Launched

Nintendo Wii users who do not live in Japan are a little upset that they do not have access to some of the features that the Japanese enjoy, such as the TV Guide Channel. It seems that there will be more to get upset about, as we have learned from Engadget that Japanese pay-per-view service has now launched.
According to Variety, the service began on Saturday with 120 titles made available. Some of the shows included Sesame Street and Pocket Monsters, the prices ranged from ¥30 – ¥500 ($.35 – $5.63)
Variety also claims that these TV shows can be viewed on your Nintendo DSi, which do not look that bad thanks to its larger screen. We are not certain when the service will hit the U.S. or Europe.
12 companies have joined this Nintendo pay-per-view service, with three more joining by the end of the year, one of those will be Disney. This is certainly great news and will make the Wii more popular than ever, but it needs to be as the Sony PS3 is starting to gain ground.
