eMachines eME627: Black Friday 2009 sales at Walmart

By: Daniel Chubb | November 23, 2009 | 11 Comments

The Black Friday 2009 sales at Walmart are looking pretty good with some really special deals on offer. If you’re looking to buy a laptop on Black Friday then Walmart’s ads have a few good deals.

With times being what they are, not everyone has the money to splash out on high-end laptops, so something more budget minded may do the job. One deal we’ve seen today is the eMachines eME627 in Wal-Mart’s Black Friday ads, which is selling for just $198.

That’s as cheap as it comes for what this laptop features. The eMachines eME627-5279 has an AMD Athlon 64 Processor, 160GB hard drive, 2GB memory, a 15.6-inch LCD display, Reads and writes CDs and DVDs, runs on ATI Radeon graphics and even the latest Windows 7 Home Premium.

Walmart will be selling the eME627 in stores on Friday, Nov. 27. The quantities will be limited, so get there early if your interested. You can view the full specs on Walmart here.

Yeah, but you’re still getting a cheap laptop. $198 should be the first clue to stay away. Opt for the extra $100 and get the HP. There’s a reason this one is $198…You’ll be spending twice that to fix it in 3 months. JMHO

Actually the laptop would normally run you around $350. But, being the great people they are, Walmart has come through with a great sale. Also, this is a great deal for a Christmas present. And finally, i think majority of people can, or know someone who can, fix a laptop for WAY less than $400 or even $200. Just my thoughts

hey. i have an acer travelmate 4320.. im on my third year with it. i have had 12 operating systems on it and thouands of programs… (im a hacker) now after # years of non-stop use, the only problem wit it is i accidentally cracked n broke the 15″ lcd screen cause the dog stepped on it…. it will cost 120$ to fix if i install it myself… otherwise theres a 250$ installation fee on top of tht… so wouldnt u simply purchase this if u were n my shoes???

Actually I looked up the specs on this laptop, and it is a heck of a good deal for the price. Also eMachines are a very reliable brand and do not require any more work than Hp, Sony or Dell. Having repaired many of the aformentioned brands, I would recommend this notebook to any non technical buyer.

I have this computer, but does it have webcam? I see a black circle where a built in cam should be but i cant get it to work.

This is my question as well

  • Matt

No there is no web-cam built in to this computer. Read the specs. The plastic part of the laptop is used for multiple models, including ones with cameras.

I got this computer on Black Friday for me and the wife, and let me tell you…..don't believe all the non-sense people are saying about this is a crappy laptop….I've had e-machine laptop and desktops in the past and I never had one problem out of any of them, except for a hard drive going bad in my old M series e-machine laptop, but that's a expected piece to go sometimes, otherwise the innards work great, I'm a IT person and this laptop performance very well, better than some of the so-called name brands, the parts in it are just like any other laptop….I maxed the memory on this to 4GIGS and it handles my apps very well (MS Office 2007 Pro, Virtual PC with 10 VM's installed and I can have a max of about three running w/o issue) .
So to anyone thinking twice about your purchase, don't be….my wife is a event planner and she runs Adobe Elements, Corel 11, and other apps at the same time and never hiccups.
E-machines are great hardware for the price, no its no alienware or anything like that, but for doing day to day stuff, it delivers. By the way, it plays WoW pretty good too.
