Facebook: PS3 vs. Xbox 360

With the recent console updates which have enabled Facebook on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, we are starting to see peoples likes and dislikes about the new additions, and there does seem to be quite a few dislikes.
One of the first complaints we have heard was recently posted on IGN, this particular writer hates the way that Sony have integrated the PS3’s Trophy system with Facebook, the article writer also feels that the limited functionality for the PS3 version is frustrating.
In Sony’s defense they have stated that this version of Facebook for the PS3 is the “first phase”, therefore current functionality only allows you to “post purchase information, game events, and Trophy information to your Facebook profile”.
The Xbox 360’s Facebook is said to be a much more enjoyable experience, it is said to allow almost all of the functionality that most customers require, for more information check out IGN’s article.

I like both of the new additions, but I don’t really think they should be compared. Ps3’s facebook isn’t suposed to be ‘Facebook on ps3′. It just updates your status with game achievments and trophies. The 360’s is meant to actually go on Facebook. I think they’re two different things.
I like the PlayStation 3 Facebook better.
That’s because your an idiot that would eat a crap sandwich if it had PS3 printed on the top of it.
As someone who actually has both, I’m pretty sure even if the 360 version spit out gold coins you would say it sucks.

I’m sorry but I have to agree with James.
Ivan posts on loads of forums, and he’s always putting his fanboy spin on things.
I’m a fellow Playstation fanboy myself, as I dislike Microsoft and the way they try to establish a monopoly in each market they enter, also using their proprietary hardware in as many devices as they can get away with without having an unacceptable backlash.

Plus I think Sony make quality hardware, and while their software department could do with a good kick up the arse and their inter-company management could do with a little work, overall I think they deliver alot of what they promise (even if it takes them a while
So when I see people like Ivan, posting incoherently or just spouting useless rhetoric online to anyone who’ll listen, it kinda gets me annoyed because he’s giving all people who are proud owners of a Playstation a bad name :[
I don’t own a 360, and so obviously haven’t tried their version of FB. But as a bad Facebook whore I can’t wait to have the feature avaliable properly on my PS.
From what I understand the 360 version is actually full Facebook support, allowing you to update your status’s and recieve notifications etc?
If that’s the case then, for the moment, the 360 version is clearly better as the PS3 version only allows for automatic status updating concerning trophies, PSN purchases or game updates with games which support the feature (of which I currently know of none).
I’m all for people expressing their opinions online, but what people care about is reading their reasons for that opinion.
Noone cares that Ivan likes ‘the Playstation 3 Facebook better’: people care about why.
The PS3 facebook thing was pretty crappy. Why would I want to spam my friends with things I’ve done in the game.

if you have a facebook, you WILL spam your friends with what you do, whether or not you use the fb feature on the PS3. also unless you are some superhuman that can somehow achieve trophies every minute or so, it shouldn’t be considered spamming, should it?
sony releasing crap before its complete? they’re not to be blamed, at least not completely anyway. it’s just like every game that gets pushed back. why do you people think that it is so? there was a date, yes, but that date was just an approximate of when they hope to release. then software comes out incomplete and people have the nerve to whine about it. the most infamous beta? HOME. you people know that its still just a beta right? all you people whine and want to boycott or whatever because you feel the game is incomplete, when it was in fact YOU who rushed the creators to release an unfinished product when they just wanted to further work on it so that we as consumers can fully enjoy what we pay for. Y.P.C.G.S.A.N. YOU GUYS CAN USE YOUR IMAGINATION TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I’M WRITING THERE.
PS3 have a habit of releasing crap before it’s ready. Look at GT5-P…..
I have only briefly played the XBox, but own a PS3, I won’t say anything about what is usually fought over, because I haven’t played the XBox enough to honestly talk about it, but the PS3 definately has a more, user friendly setup. That’s all I’m saying.
Honestly the 360 FB is pretty decent but why wouldn’t I just go onto my computer? I doubt I’ll use it much. I’d rather be gaming or watching a movie if I’m on my Xbox. I get the full FB experience on my computer. Still don’t have a PS3
it would b nice if fifa 09 or 10 had supported the facebook for ps3 then my friends in facebook would kno me banging players online

Holy crap facebook really!!!?? i have both ps3 and 360 and the facebook on 360 is about 85% like the real one but really I can on facebook on my ps3 and have full 100% facebook support
