PS3 Vs Xbox 360: Assassin’s Creed II compared, 360 has edge?
Filed under: Gaming, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

With the recent release of Assassin’s Creed II on both Xbox 360 and PS3 many gamers are beginning to argue what console the game looks better on.
At the recent EuroGamer EXPO I attended, a Ubisoft representative stated that the graphics on both consoles are identical, however according to a recent article posted on Joystiq this may not be the case.
Although side by side there is not much difference between the two versions according to Joystiq the Xbox 360’s version has the slight edge, this is due to its smoother performance and sharper picture.
I only managed to play the PS3 version at EuroGamer therefore I cannot really comment, the graphics looked great on the PS3 however I do not have a HD setup at home so its bound to look great.
Have you played both consoles versions of the game? If so, what version would you say has the edge? Where is the most noticeable difference?

To quote you, “do not have a HD setup at home”.
WTF are you thinking writing this article. If you don’t have an HDTV then you have no right publishing an article about graphic quality or really about electronics in general.
Well I do have a home cinema setup with a projector which was purchased before HDMI was really taking of (2006), therefore it is not as if I am gaming on an old 32 inch TV via scart……
I would say the graphics on the xbox 360 are alot smoother and have alot of detail than the ps3 version. i do believe that the storyline is brilliant and the fighting techniques are amazing. good work ubisoft!
i say that the graphics are in nice detail and i compared both, and yes 360 does look smoother and has more light but it kinda gives this unrealistic look to me. on the Ps3 it has that dark lighting that gives it that realistic look to me and i gives that gritty look that makes it more breathtaking. i say that PS3 version looks better.
Joystiq? The American blog that loves American things? Gimme-a break. Even a moron knows they cherry pick everything pro-360, you can bet they compared the whole game, and cheery picked the chapter that was their favoured outcome..
It’s not coincidental that now the PS3 is selling big guns, the Microsoft sponsored FUD is flying…
the ps3 is better because it comes pre installed with everything.
Is this just me? the xbox version looks HORRIBLE! There are blob shadows under my assassins feet! The resolution and textures are so low! I cant READ any text! This is black edition, is this only me?
i think ur a retard coz whn i played the game, i did’nt notice any flaws….either ur 360 sux or ur tv sux….
This, ladies and gentlemen, is a 360 fanboy. It’s like the pinnacle of stupidity.
your calling him a retard yet your the one who can’t spell or use proper grammer?
I love these flames. By the way, you spelled “You’re” wrong.
Not that it matters, but 360 is the pretty clear winner in both performance and visual quality on this one. Odd, because I thought I read that AC1 was slightly better on the ps3. Maybe they got tired of the hoops they had to go through to program on the ps3?

no no, it was terrible on both consoles.
There seems to a be lot of bad mouthing going on in regards to the PS3 and the graphics. It’s probably due to the fact that the majority of people have 360s and are trying to defend their choice. Honestly i cant find any real difference in the quality of the graphics although the PS3 seem to have better lighting. both run smoothly possibly the 360 more so but i haven’t really noticed.
conclusion: its not important which console you get it for seeing as multiplayer isn’t really a factor. i’d personally get it for the PS but thats just because i don’t want a red ring just when the game starts getting interesting
this game sucks anyways.
360 output is 1080p, which explains the slight edge graphics-wise (PS3 outputs at 720). If you dont yet have a true high definition tv (1080), the difference is negligable. The difference is unnoticable on a standard TV. Lastly, Ubisoft always creates the 360 version first (as its easier, more like PC), then ports the PS3 versions. While they strive to make them virtually identical, occasionally a slight difference here or there is noticable in graphics/framerate/etc.
What? Both the PS3 version and the XBox360 version are 1080p if your TV supports it and you use digital connections (geez, just look at the back of the package for both versions)…
Weird, I have the PS3 version and it clearly says in the box “1080p” for AC2… gonna check later if the game is actually in 1080p.
