TomTom iPhone Navigation App Update: iPod Touch and 2G Support
By: Peter Chubb | November 19, 2009 | 2 CommentsThe TomTom iPhone navigation App is not the most loved product of both companies, but user will still want to know that there is an update. Engadget informs us that those who own an original 2G iPhone or iPod Touch will now be pleased to learn that the TomTom now supports those two devices.
Not sure how well received this news will be, we remember when we gave you the pricing details of the app and the cradle, this caused such outrage that Apple had to take the device down for a few weeks.
There are a number of problems with the TomTom iPhone app; the first is the price of the app itself, $100. If that was not enough, you then had to pay a huge amount of money for the iPhone cradle. When you add the price of the two products together, we all agree that something is not quite right.
I was thinking of purchasing the app, but then good sense prevailed. I will stick to my standalone TomTom GPS system and let my iPhone 3GS do all the other stuff it was intended to do.
