Apple Tablet: Price will be $500-700 – Piper Jaffray
Filed under: Computers, Portable Computers & Tablets

Yet more news on the ‘unannounced’ Apple Tablet now, as it has been reported that the Apple Tablet will not be priced at $2000 as speculated, but rather $500-700 according to one analyst.
According to this article from AppleInsider, Gene Morgan, who is an analyst with Piper Jaffray believes that the recent news about the ‘delay’ for the Apple Tablet is ‘irrelevant’ – as it will not affect sales of the device once it is (or isn’t) announced.
As for the price, he believes that Apple will price the Tablet between the iPod Touch ($199) and the Macbook ($999 version). Using those guidelines, he thinks that the Tablet will actually be priced between $500 and 700.
What are your thoughts on this? We would certainly welcome a $500-700 price tag for the Tablet, I mean – who wouldn’t?

I think it will be a popular device at that price range. The Nook and Kindle are great for ebooks but not for all the other things people want out of a mobile PC.
