Sony Reader Daily Edition: Available for pre-order
By: Jamie Pert | November 18, 2009 | Leave a CommentBack in late August we introduced you to the Sony Reader Daily Edition, at the time we suspected that the device will be available sometime in December for approximately $400.
As it turns out our predictions turned out to be correct as you can now pre-order the Sony Reader Daily Edition for $399.99, the device will ship December 18th through to January 8th.
Many believe that this device could be a real threat to the Kindle, not only due to pricing but also due to functionality, the Daily Edition is said to offer up to 2.5 weeks of battery life from a single charge and supports a wide range of file formats which include “PDF, Word, BBeB, ePub and other text formats”.
The device itself features a 7 inch monochrome e-ink display and also has integrated 3G connectivity, to get the most out of the battery life it is thought that the 3G connectivity will need to be turned off.
