PS3 Cross-game chat: Confirmed by Sony (More or less)
By: Alan Ng | November 18, 2009 | 3 CommentsThe infamous PS3 cross-game chat rumors continue to swirl around the internet, with bits of info always popping up here and there. Recently, we have come one step further to an official confirmation after a Sony employee revealed a bit too much info than intended.
As reported from Eurogamer, James Thorpe who is a product manager for the Playstation Network, was replying to readers comments on a thread all about the upcoming Facebook features for the PS3.
Key words from him include ‘”I wish I could just give you a date, I really do!!” and ”I hope, like you all do, that its sooner rather than later.”
Turns out that those really ‘were’ key words, as Sony has now deleted his comments. Oops. Don’t forget that a developer for Naughty Dog also hinted about cross-game chat coming in a firmware update, so is it now time for Sony to spill the beans?
