Office 2010 Beta: First Look Preview
By: Jamie Pert | November 18, 2009 | Leave a CommentAn Office 2010 Beta has been out a while now, however we still haven’t heard much about it, however a recent article on ZDNet gives us a sneak preview at this latest version.
From what we can see there will be 5 different versions of Office 2010 to choose from, two of which will be available for volume licensing only.
The five versions are Office Home & Student 2010, Office Home & Business 2010, Office Professional 2010, Office Standard 2010 and Office Professional Plus 2010, the latter two are the versions which require volume licensing.
Obviously as the Beta release is a very early version it is quite buggy, the whole look of Office 2010 is said to fit Windows 7 better, in terms of features Office 2010 is said to be similar to previous versions, it seems most of Microsoft’s attention has been spent on improving the UI to improve usability.
ZDNet’s article looks closely at how Microsoft have cleaned up the UI, improved the applications and gives us an insight as to what to expect from the latest version of Outlook and Sharepoint 2010, check out their fully detailed article here.
