Google Phone 2010: Custom Android handset release – Rumor

Some interesting details to report now as it has been rumored that Google are planning to release their own ‘custom-designed’ Android handset sometime in 2010 – with the intention of taking on the Apple iPhone.

According to this article from Apple Insider, the rumors have surfaced from Michael Arrington of TechCrunch, who has cited ‘reliable, but anonymous’ sources for the info.

Arrington states that the phone has been confirmed to be releasing early 2010 and will come equipped with the Google branding on it.

Furthermore, he thinks it is ‘likely’ that the phone will be manufactured by Korean-based LG or Samsung, although Google will take control on all matters regarding software and hardware.
