Windows Marketplace: Now Available for legacy Windows Handsets

Microsoft have previously stated that their Windows Marketplace will soon be available on Windows Mobile 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1 handsets.

Following the success of rivaling application stores such as Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android Marketplace, it is no surprise that Microsoft have decided to widen the horizons for their marketplace, the marketplace is now officially available for 6.0 and 6.1 handsets.

It is thought that approximately 90 percent of the applications at the Windows Marketplace will work on older versions of Windows Mobile OS.
