AT&T Dell Streak Android 2.0 MID: 2010 Release

By: Peter Chubb | November 17, 2009 | 2 Comments

Little was known about Dell’s 5-inch MID, that was until a video of the device popped up last month. There are now rumors that the mobile Internet device will be released by AT&T in 2010 and will run on the Google Android 2.0 OS, this is what Engadget learned from DigiTimes.

The device will have a 5-megapixel camera and have an 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen. Other features include Bluetooth, 3g and Wi-Fi, and an early Q1 2010 release is on the cards. Dell will outsource the production of the small MID to Chinese manufacturer, Qisda.

The Dell MID comes with a 1,300mAh battery, so should offer more than enough power for your everyday tasks. According to a recent review over at Slash Gear, the Dell Streak does not have much hardware showing on the outside however; there are three touch-sensitive buttons on the right-hand side of the device.

On the bottom edge of the device is a multifunction dock connector, as well as the camera on the rear of the device Dell thought of adding a front facing camera as well, this will be ideal for video conference calls. We do not have an exact release date and what countries will be included in the launch, once we know more we will let you know.
