Apple Tablet PC Speculation: What does CNN Know?

By: Peter Chubb | November 17, 2009 | 1 Comment

The constant rumors of an Apple Tablet PC all say one thing; it will be far better than any other table the market has to offer. As we said, this device is all speculation at this time, but CNN have been talking about the new device as if they know something. We have to wonder what they know what everyone else does not.

PC World knows that if and when the Apple Tablet is released, then sales of netbooks will be affected. The latest rumors say that the tablet will be released next year and that Steve Jobs has taken charge of the project. With the CEO putting his weight behind it, we know that the Apple Tablet will be the device to have.

On Monday, CNN have been speculating about what the new device can bring to the table, as well as our high expectations of what it will be capable of. When you read the CNN report you get the feeling that they have actually seen the device for themselves, but this would go against everything that Apple have done in the past with keeping their rumored products a secret.

There is a huge buzz surrounding the Apple Tablet, but this is something that we have gotten used to with new Apple products, you only have to look at the iPhone or MacBook Air for proof of that. However, not everyone is happy about the thought of a huge piece of glass and aluminum being carried around all day.

The Apple Tablet will have so many uses, one being an e-reader. This is where the problem lies though, the device will have a limited battery life compared to something like the Kindle. So what will market be for the Apple Tablet PC?

Apple has already shown in the laptop space that they can do interesting things with battery design – to assume that it will not have the life of the Kindle is making a poor guess.

Also from the design of the iPhone we know Apple is obsessed with optimizing the battery life of their products.
