Modern Warfare 2 Cheats: VAC cheat protection fails

By: Alan Ng | November 16, 2009 | 2 Comments

It has been reported that the PC version of popular shooter Modern Warfare 2 has already been patched up, in an effort to solve match-making issues, while also fixing up a few bugs that were present.

As reported from PCGamesHardware, you are probably all aware that the PC version of the game contains extra measures to prevent the use of wallhacks and other glitches.

No dedicated Servers, No Mods and improved Valve VAC all help to contribute to a ‘hacker-free’ game, but there are already reports that certain wallhacks are available.

A video appeared on YouTube showing the apparent wallhack, but unfortunately Activision have removed it due to copyright.

Have you spotted any wallhacks on MW2?

Is this story having a laugh, there has been hacks since day one!!
This along with all the other problems this game contains has lead to the demise of COD on PC.
IW has NO technical support, there has been no mods on the official forums since the day the game has been released.

To be honest for a PC game this is an epic fail. When we could run our own servers we could votekick and enforce ban lists, but none of this is available in MW2. And the number of cheats I come across is just preposterous, leading to a secondary effect of everyone accusing everyone else of cheating stressing out players who are actually good and not using cheats. Amongst some of the reasons IW chose not to go with the dedicated server route was because when they fired up cod4 they experienced servers with either lots of cheats, or players on a much higher skill level than they were making it difficult for them to compete. Well hos is their IWNet solution any different? The issue of skill disparity is the same, and the issue around cheaters is much much worse.
