Modern Warfare 2: Airport scene causes recall in Russia

It has been reported that Russia have recalled ALL copies of Modern Warfare 2, as a result of the controversial airport scene featured in the single player campaign mode. Shock Horror.

As reported from VG247, it is also thought that Russian gamers are not too pleased that the main storyline plot revolves around a war between the US and Russia.

Didn’t they know about the level beforehand? Seems a bit crazy to us to recall the game almost a week after release. You may know that the PC version of the game has already been patched with the removal of the airport level in question, while a new edited retail version is also expected soon.

    It’s a great game but I think the American’s need to take a hard look at themselves and their attitudes towards to other countries and nationalities. If the roles were reversed and the Russians/Arabs/Anyone not from America were fighting the US they’d be an outcry.

    I personally would like to play a game set in America where are hicks and patriots are hunted down.

    -Is not a big deal !! just a game ..
    it states in the main menu that if you want to skip
    this level you CAN…just skip it and get on with your life .
    -I guess people this days forgot what is real or not real!!

    I think that this is pretty sad considering that it is an M rated game. If you can’t handle something that is fictional, then you most certainly aren’t mature enough to play this game.

    That scene is ridiculous imagine how much more shooting will happen just because of that scene it dosent make sense to kill that much people. Its more than a game if your willing to take a life in a game then you can take it in real life this is just a preparation kids will start to do this i hope not but shootings will happen more often

    The issue is that this content is getting to pre teen players. Most parents that are buying this for thier kids have no idea (and sadly probably don’t care) of the content of this game.

    i really dont care about what u all think that is so bad about the airport scene i mean its just a game. like gta games or gta iv. u run people over kill cops high jack helicoppers. its all basically the same. i happen to love the air port one because it looks real. and u can make the distion if u wanna kill the cilivans or not. because when u get pass the scene theres the s.w.a.t team. and u have to kill them or ull get killed by them. who cares if takes place in russia. still were killing iraqus and soon theyll probbly have games with iraqu kids picking guns up. and if u think this game is offensive then i think killing iraqus is to. plus its just game. people over 15 no not to do it or never will.
