Fujitsu F-04B: Handset that Splits in Two

Fujitsu F-04B: Handset that Splits in Two

Fujistu have recently revealed a new handset, one of the most noticeable and unique things about this handset is that it is capable of splitting into two usable parts.

The general look of the handset is similar to that of a standard slider phone, however the complete back half of the handset can be removed from the handset, therefore leaving two parts, one part consists of a 3.4 inch touchscreen display, antenna and radio module.

The other part of the handset consists of both a QWERTY keyboard and a slide-out numeric keyboard, this is said to wirelessly communicate with the other part of the handset via Bluetooth (with a 10m range).

It is thought that this handset will launch in Japan sometime in March/April 2010, as we find out more we will keep you informed, check out HotHardware for more information.

Do you like the sound of this seemingly new concept for handsets? Personally I find it a bit of a gimmick, which in my opinion will never really become popular.
