1080p HD Video: Coming to YouTube Soon
By: Jamie Pert | November 16, 2009 | Leave a CommentBack in November 2008 YouTube began offering support of video playback at 720p, it now seems that YouTube are now planning to add support 1080p videos.
Things started slow for the 720p videos, however it is now thought that 10% of the videos on YouTube are now at the 720p resolution.
YouTube have recently revealed plans to soon add support 1080p videos, according to SlipperyBrick’s article YouTube are “re-encoding all the 1080p videos that have been uploaded over the past year, and they’re about halfway through already”.
For full details check out SlipperyBrick’s article here, to be honest this is a natural progression for the service, however I am quite shocked that it seems to be arriving already.
