Black Friday 2009: Track deals with social media

Before you make your way down to your local Walmart or Target early on Black Friday, you may want to go online and check Facebook or Twitter. We already know that hundreds of deals are already being advertised online, as well as many Black Friday Ads being leaked.

According to sources, Staples has turned to a different kind of advertising, social media. This is very clever as it will reach a much wider audience who will now be able to see the huge savings being made on laptops, TVs, cameras, computers and much more.

Dealnews.com editor-in-chief, Dan de Grandpre said “Twitter and Facebook are now major ways to disseminate information.” Deloitte Research have found that many shoppers will be looking on Facebook and Twitter this Black Friday, so it was the right decision to make the deals available to users.

Stores will not only be showing their deals on these social media sites, but also with an e-mail campaign as well. Once Black Friday is out of the way, shopping will continue on Saturday paving the way for big sales online with Cyber Monday.
