Bing to Include Wolfram Alpha Results: Challenger to Google
By: Peter Chubb | November 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentMicrosoft has been in a constant battle with Google when it comes to the search engine market, they even tried to purchase Yahoo to try to take the fight to them, but this fell through. Since then Microsoft has released Bing, their new search engine, but the early sings were not that great.
It is no secret that Google are king when it comes to search engines, but Microsoft have deep pockets and will start to gain on Google soon. That day may be sooner than we think with the news that Bing is to use search results from Wolfram Alpha.
Bing have some new innovation on the way, at this is just one of them. This new search tool is more for the geeky user, but it is still a great addition to the search engine. When a search is done, Wolfram Alpha uses their algorithms to return actionable data instead of the page of links that we are so used to seeing.
Bing is still in third place when it comes to market share in the search engine business. Google has 70.6 percent, Yahoo, 16.14 percent and Bing with a lowly 8.96 for September. However, Bing increased that by 9.57 percent in October, a sign that they are gaining ground.
