Xbox 360 hackers: Microsoft remove 600,000 from Xbox Live
By: Jamie Pert | November 11, 2009 | 8 CommentsMicrosoft have recently confirmed that they have banned a small percentage of Xbox Live users, this is due to the fact that they have been running modded consoles.
This small percentage is said to be approximately 600,000 users, this equates to roughly 3 percent of the current 20 million Xbox Live users out there.
To be honest I know of people who have been playing on pirated consoles for a few years now, and it surprises me more that Microsoft have taken this long to ban users, the ban was warned in our previous post here.
I think most consumers won’t complain, because lets face it the amount of money they have saved on games over the past years has probably far outweighed the cost of a new console and a couple of legitimate games.
It is thought that the ban will not completely stop the console from working, however you will be unable to connect to the Internet with it, therefore Xbox Live will not be possible, find out more on Pocket-Lint.
Do you think the action taken by Microsoft is too excessive?
