Symbian OS’s Future Targets & Direction
Filed under: Cell Phones, Phone Software

A recent article on SlashGear features an image which shows us exactly what Symbian’s future may entail, if they manage to deliver some of the targets the OS could become pretty revolutionary.
The main emphasis seems to be related to pairing to your handset to a wide range of devices etc, some of the device pairing seems quite obvious, however some seems extremely unlikely.
According to the image future Symbian-based handsets will possibly pair with sound systems, everyday appliances, vehicles and intelligent lifeforms, one other way the handset wants to developed is to offer a purchasing system via the handset (similar to that of the Starbucks App for iPhone offers).
I do think it is good for an OS to aim high, however I feel that there are a lot more ways in which Symbian OS’s need to develop before taking these steps, I think the phrase “learn to walk before you run” pretty much suits Symbian’s current predicament, for full details check out SlashGear.
