Modern Warfare 2: PS3 Party Invite problems to get patch fix

With this game in the making for over 2 years, and most likely finished a month or two ago I find this extremely unexcusable. IW got our money, and now we have to wait until Friday to play online? How about I pay THEM on Friday, they wouldn\’t like that. And for those people saying that is not a big deal, SCREW YOU, we paid for a completed game, not one with bugs and glitches. IW knew there would be hundreds and thousands of purchases on Tuesday. They should have been ready. And they will be ready for more of our money with a bunch of new map packs with only one or two good ones out of four.

I totally agree with you. This is inexcusable from Infinity Ward. As I type now it is impossible to get online and play the multiplayer game. I think Activision servers are down. It is disgusting. There should be legal remedies for this shit. I’d love to make the b*stards squirm in court.

The online play is the part of the game that probably 90% of users will spend most of their time. To release a game with such a glaring bug is atrocious.
And I personally feel that too many of the maps in the multi-player are too similar in design and layout. Very lazy if you ask me.

Try going into the network settings and Testing your network connection. That worked for me the first try. No reboot required. The Bugs on launch day…. What can you say? Play the damn single player till the patch comes out. It is a freaking awesome game. Good lord! Stop freaking crying. What are you guys 12 or something?

Really? I had to download a patch that made online play stop working? WTF??? Class action suit? Alright

Yeah play single player or speciel ops I love playing the space level or play a diffrent game…

For the people whining and crying about law suits and court over a game grow up. If u noticed the game went flawless other than the trophies until about 3am eastern time and then went nuts on everybody.I know for a fact that the game worked fine up to this point. Maybe you should ask one of the 20000 people that got it 3 weeks ago or a week early,I’m sure they will tell you it worked fine. because I’m more angry about them having it so early.so on that note if you people are that mad go play the glitch kings game from treyarch and have fun on the repeat WWII game, I’m sticking with MW2. Kudos to infinty ward you really know what we want in a game and screw these nerds that don’t have a woman or a life to look forward to.if any nerd in here thinks they can make a better game maybe you nedd to look into it as a profession.

But us a bit of a pain if I can’t get online today, it was fine till update today, I jeep getting message – ‘conectimg to matchmaking server’!!

To the person who said that the PS3 multiplayer will be down until a patch is released on Friday, where did you read/here that? That is a rather long time considering they should have had this stuff better anticipated…

it is not a glitch Demonware server died. Causing mass error messages to Sony’s server, which made it block all #MW2 connections to prevent PSN fail. psn can allow 20,000 ppl to sign in at once, and then allow 20k more, and then 20k more. 100′s of thousands at once killed it.

unexcusable would be if they knew the problem was there and refused to fix it.. they dont have to fix it.. but they are still going to patch it.. quit your bitching.. there are always bugs in these games.. the inviting problem is the only thing wrong with this game that i can see.. so quit bitching and either play the game or don’t..

Looks like they’v fixed the online play problem, job done.

The invite system sort of works if you do the following.

1. Wait for an invite to arrive in your inbox
2. Log out of PSN
3. Log back in
4. Accept the invite
5. Stop bitching

This works for me and most other people.

well that really worked didnt it…not. bloody useless if the game was properly tested before hand none of this would have happened. i feel ripped off and am extremely angry with the makers of this game. xbox version is fine so my friends have said. ridiculous!!!

these designers are getting pretty good money to sit there all day and design a game. If they are not able to handle the job of doing everything correctly and prevent a huge problem like this then another company needs to take over this game, a company that is intelligent enough to make sure a big problem like thise doesnt happen. They’re like the smartest people with down syndrome

God, so many angry people! I got the game on launch and was online no problems that night. Yes problem with trophies but patch fixes that next night. Uncharted 2 also has a bug with some of the trophies..no biggie!
The server problem WAS fixed last night, played three hours plus online without a problem looging on several times.
As Kevin says, it was not a game problem it was problem with a massiveinly popular game threatening to overload the PSN network with tens of thousands hitting it a once!
Come on people, lets not overreact, yes invites is screwed and needs to be fixed big time, but lets see if the promised patch sorts it

Just get an invite but before you open it sign out from the psn and sign back in again. Start up the game and then go to your received messages and accept the invite. There is apparently a patch been released today so hopefully that will sort it out. You dont have to re-boot the whole system!!!

You can play online ya idiot, just can’t invite a friend. You’re about the most negative person I’ve seen online. Piss off back to the first modern warfare and play “Headshots” in a cage match all night long… retard!

they know or only they know peopele killing people , what sham for
doing the game and you can not invit people ��.. the software of
this game is very bad made â?¦..the problem is that on PS3 you
cannot get into parties without cutting off your system. Also you
cant invite friends to play with you easily, and once their in your
party, they probably wont make it into the game that you are about to
play. (they get kicked). this is extrememly annoying and makes the
money spent a little hard to take when you cant play with your
friends.

yea so when i play Cod Mw2 i can get to the mission select or the start match for mutiplayer then when i select start the game freezes. Wtf is the problem is there any way to fix it?
