Modern Warfare 2: PS3 Multiplayer down due to server overload

Hi Guys, Ive Got Modern Warfare 2 on PS3 and it wasnt giving me some trophies so they released this patch but since i downloaded it i went to try get another trophy and i got one which i already had so i looked at my trophies and they’d all gone can anyone help please add me psn:chazlfc4wws

And I Was Just Wondering whether its possible i will get them back or will i have to re-do the story and i want to know if ive still got my online data cos i wasnt doing too badly to be honest! add me psn:chazlfc4wws

i cant even check out my trophies… every time i try to check them it loads half way and then an error sign comes on .. does this happen to anyone else!!!!!

I’ve had multiplayer issues on MW2 PS3 since day 1. Day 2 I can’t even play the game online. You would think that all the money being spent on this game that someone would have this figured out before launching the damn game!

A few hours ago i got the update and that picture came up, i was really annoyed with Infinity Ward, but i guess that it not really their fault although they should of got more servers!

Well, IW’s forums and community section of the site are having issues right now as well. I think that they need to boot Demonware and find a company that can fit the bill.

u think that knowing that this was prolly gonna be the most anticipated game release ever they would have thought about that…now i am not complaining because i got a solid 5 hours of online play yesterday…i just hope it gets fixed so we can never stop killin ppl

I dont no about this but, when i try to get online it doesnt show that anymore, i still cant play, it says connecting to matchmaking server and doesn’t ever get to the screen in the picture. But i did c it earlier. anybody else have this?(same for spec ops)

hopefully the online data should be preserved, unless they have to clear the servers holding that data to get them back up and runnning, which i can’t see them needing to do. *fingers crossed*

Hey gang – I JUST went and bought MW2 and went to google for a question and found this….thank you for the update on the game – I haven’t even had a chance to open it yet, so you saved me some frustration!

A bit off topic – but I’m hoping you can help… I’ve played most all of the COD games online mode…I need to know if there is equipment to buy that allows TWO people to play online mode at same time? I see a little green link next to some players ID’s on COD world at war…and was wondering if that meant they are from same PS3…or do you have to have another complete PS3 hooked up to play with multiple people online at once?

Sony should have anticipated this a long time ago. I mean look at how popular this game is and look at how many people had it on reserve. I understand PSN offers a free service, but does that mean we can’t have a fine network like XBox?

SAME THING WITH ME. I got the game at 3 o clock tuesday. Played for like 3 hours. Went to sleep and woke up in the morning on veterans day. Turned on my ps3 and started up MW2. Then it said Fetching playlists. I tried again and again but the same thing kept popping up. I noticed that 31 of my friends had MW2 and they had the same problem. Here i am thinking im gonna play and rank up. Im mad mad mad.please send me info on when this will be over.PLEASE. but the good thing i got to finish story mode and some special ops. you would think as smart as people at sony and infinity are they know how many games where preorderd you would think the server would have been suffecint to handle the trafic i whant $10.00 credit on my wallet for the incovence of spending $70 on a game i can’t play

This is a pile of hot, steamy, dog sh*t… “Server Overload” SHUT THE EFF UP…. you didn’t know that many people would be on the first day?!?!?! The game companies are greedy, fat little pigs who just take our money and could give a sh*t after that… Sony pays a 3rd party to maintain these servers and they are “overloaded”…jeez… effin’ donkeys.

as far as i know, you can only play online as one person per console. i haven’t seen anything on the net or elsewhere that says otherwise. i’ve tried this once before, but got no answers..

I think this is complete bs. I got the game on the 7th and have been playing it for a while then as soon as its released it fucks up? they should have known better…its a sequal to the game of the year everyone loves call of duty what the hell of coarse there are going to be mass amounts of people trying to play

this sucks!!! i cant invite my friends to games and i cant accept game invites!!! infinity ward needs to fix this immediately!!!

I figured out how to join your friends on the ps3. Follow these steps and it should work. If not send me a message.
1) You have to exit out of the multiplayer lobby.
2) Sign out and sign back in
3) Once you have sign back in go the the multiplayer lobby and have one of your friend send a invite.
4) Accept the invite and it should work.

I personally have not had many issued connecting to the servers (however, i only have about 6 total hours of online play in since Tue.) but it is very slow about finding and filling a room once I am connected. Sometimes this takes 3 or 4 minutes.

The biggest load of crap is the way the party invite system is. In order to join a party invite, you must:
1. Sign out of Playstation Network
2. Back out of game to main menu
3. Click on Multiplayer, then join game
4. Sign back into Playstation network when prompted
5. Check your messages and then join via the party join request

This is a joke!! It is almost impossible to get a party of 6 people in a room in less than 10 minutes. This, in my opinion, is a HUGE oversight by Sony and Infinity Ward. I mean, I love the game, graphics & playability are awesome, but the whole point of multiplayer gaming is to play WITH YOUR FRIENDS! If you can’t even get them in your room without going through all of the sign in, sign out BS. This issue needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

what you do ,and this works every time (until most USA are on line with most Europe) say i send u an invite DON’T take it,
press PS button go left once to psn logo ,account management ,press triangle and sign out then sign in again , then take invite. don’t quit game or turn PS off just the quick sign out & in .

This is why I have an xbox, no shitty server overloads. Xbox Live had 2million users on at the same time and not one bit of lag.

wow since mw2 came out. during chirstmas, kids started getting it. now that’s how the server overloaded… those kids needs to rest… i haven’t been able to get on in like a month..
