Dell Mobile Internet Device: On its Way?

Dell Mobile Internet Device: On its Way?

By: Jamie Pert | November 11, 2009 | 1 Comment

A recent article on SlashGear suggests that we may soon be seeing a Dell mobile-Internet-device released sometime soon, the product has been code-named Streak.

Specifications are unconfirmed, however sources believe that the device will run Android 2.0 and will feature both WiFi and 3G connectivity, to be honest the device looks like a standard handset however much larger with a 5 inch display.

Personally I feel that the need for dedicated mobile-Internet devices is not that great, this is due to the fact that smartphones are becoming more and more advanced, which is resulting in a fuller web experience.

As we hear more details regarding pricing, specifications and a release date we we will keep you posted, check out SlashGear for more information.

I personally believe there is a still a huge market for mobile internet devices. Many users are still unwilling to pay monthly service charges, which most phone companies lock you into (and for a 2 year period generally).

There’s a market out there of people who want a gaming platform, music platform, touch platform, and camera. All bundled together with a bunch of apps, but are just unwilling to shell out the money for the phone.
