Windows 7 upgrade, malware threats, and report download

It has been reported that Microsoft have accused rival software firm Sophos of exaggerating test results that showed Windows 7 to be vulnerable to 8 out of 10 viruses.

As reported from Information Week, Microsoft are clearly not amused by their comments, as Paul Cooke, Microsoft’s director of Windows Enterprise Client Security has stated that this a tactic to draw away potential Windows 7 software buyers in order to sell more copies of their own software.

Sophos didn’t hold back with their impressions of Windows 7, even stating at one point: “Unfortunately, despite Microsoft’s claims, Windows 7 disappointed just like earlier versions of Windows.”

Are the malware reports really that bad though? Let us know your thoughts on this. Full article over at Information week.
