AT&T Vs Verizon: AT&T hit back over iPhone data coverage
By: Alan Ng | November 10, 2009 | 1 CommentWell we knew it was only a matter of time until AT&T hit back against Verizon over their Data coverage war and here it is. AT&T have published new stats highlighting the fact that Verizon exaggerated the exact coverage that AT&T offer in their recent Ads.
Over at Apple Insider, you’ll be able to see a new graph which portrays AT&T’s real data coverage in the U.S. It turns out that Verizon only listed AT&T’s newer 3.2MB 3G network against their 1.4MB 3G EVDO service, forgetting to include AT&T’s functional EDGE service and free WiFi access points.
When you put that into perpective, it does make Verizons new ’5x more coverage ads’ a little dodgy, leading us to believe that they were not entirely speaking the truth.
No wonder AT&T felt the need to clear things up. You can read a lot more info on this topic over at Apple Insider.
