Is it worth me ordering this online, or do you think it’d be quicker to wait for it to turn up in the apple stores?

Mine arrived yesterday. Picked up at FedEx with great excitement and anticipation. When I loaded the box, it was already dark and I didn’t see the HUGE gash in the box. I got it out of the box with great difficulty only to find the entire side had been caved in.

This is largely FedEx fault, but also Apple packaging. Anyone who’s ordered a Mac in the past (I have 3 already) knows their packaging is pretty flimsy. Only the corners are protected with styrofoam. I have the one I ordered in October ready to return also but, since it does work, I’m waiting for one that actually works before I return it.

INSPECT your Mac before setting it up!!! Wish I’d done that on the 24″ before installing all my programs, then noticing the defective screen. Fortunately it was within the first 2 days I had it.

Now I’m back to returning my 2nd defective one and back to the bottom of the waiting list. GRAND!!!
