Nokia Charger Recall: Model List Details
By: Peter Chubb | November 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentNokia have had to issue a battery charger recall and exchange program, owners will have to check if their charger appears on the list of affected models, which were manufactured by a third-party supplier, and this will be free of charge.
The problem with the battery chargers were found during a routine quality control process. The plastic covers on these third-party chargers could become loose and could then separate from the main body. If this happens, then the charger’s internal components would be on show and could cause an electric shock.
According to Engadget, there have not been any reports of injuries, let us hope that Nokia have called the recall just in time. The two models affected are the AC-3E and AC-3U models, the dates of manufacturer are between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009 and April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 respectively.
Consumers have been asked to visit the Nokia website for full details of the recall and exchange program. If you have one of the affected chargers, then please stop using it immediately.
