Modern Warfare 2: Released early in GameStop stores

While we know that many of you are already enjoying the fruits of Modern Warfare 2 early, GameStop have confirmed that they are ‘already aware’ that some of their stores are selling the game ahead of it’s release date tomorrow.

As reported from VG247, GameStop’s Chris Olivera has stated that the reason the retailer decided to sell the game early, is due to other retailers in the area breaking the street date as well.

They say that this only relates to ‘reserved copies’, but what are the chances of you going into a GameStop store now and picking up a copy we wonder.

Apparently, Activision are not too happy with the move, so we have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more on this soon.

Did you get a copy from GameStop early? Let us know!

I got a call on Sunday saying that I could pick it up from the Gamestop in Reading, PA, so I did. I was playing all night last night and it said there were about 16,000 people in playlists. So apparently there were a few more that were playing the game.
