Verizon Droid Tethering Cost Same as AT&T iPhone

Last Thursday Verizon Wireless confirmed its price plan for tethering on the Motorola Droid. There had already been details of this earlier in the week, but the plans were a little sketchy. The tethering will cost an additional $30 on top of your current voice plan; this is the same deal that is on AT&T for its Apple iPhone.
According to Electonista the plan will come with a 5GB bandwidth cap, if you exceed the cap then overage fees will come into force. The tethering rate will be kept separate from the standard data on Droid, the first Google Android 2.0 OS handset.
AT&T also charge $30 per month and also enforce a 5GB data limit cap, for those who have signed up to a National E-mail plan will only have to pay $15, which was the rate that they was offered at the time. This is certain to upset a number of Motorola Droid users.
Although both AT&T and Verizon have now given details of its price plan for tethering, neither have given a date as to when it will start. We learned that Verizon will offer tethering early in 2010, and AT&T will be sometime in 2010. We will just have to keep waiting until both decide to let us know.
