Modern Warfare 2: Gamers will favor PS3 version – Analysts

Due to M$ and $ony’s recent pricing structures, the PS3 is coming out on top for me as best value for money, after long favouring the 360 but this has to be complete bull. Most people will be buying MW2 because of the online play and for Live.

I don’t know where these analysts get their figures from, it can only be $ony.

Who ever wrote this artical should be fired. 1st of all their arent enough people who own a ps3 2 even compete with the sale the 360 version will bring. Next according to pre-order numbers the 360 is doing MUCH better than the PS3. Plz fire this writer and hire someone who know something about the gaming industry. Just 1 last thing this is 1st and foremost and multiplayer game, and XBOX LIVE runs circles around the horrible lag and terrible players that fill up ps3 servers.

Yep, this article is Bogus. I seen some preorder number estimates and the 360′s are about double what ps3 has. I have both consoles as well and the competition and quality of players seem to be better on XBL, I take more pride my posistive KD ratio in CoD4 on the 360 than I do for the ps3 version. CoD is mainly bought for online play, I’d say about 70 to 85 percent of the people buy it only for online multiplayer; I am. I think in the end the 360 will have more purchases than ps3 version. This is evident by the number of increasing ps3′s sold since the price drop but the software only had 2 games in the top 10 in sales with about half million games sold total, according to NPD figures for september. The 360 had 5 spots in that same top 10, and 4 of the top 5. So, yea…I think this article is BS. Makes you think that the fine folks at OTX are Sony fanboys.

Ok these analysts are definitely Sony fanboys but all of your replying are obviously MS fanboys, PSN isn’t bad, there is relatively no lag and the players are more adult than the kiddies screaming on XBL. To the obvious fanboy that has “both consoles” why would you buy the same game for both consoles? That just gave away your lie. 360 dominates PS3 install base in NA and that’s where most of the MW2 sales will be made. 2:1 install base in NA equates to a roughly 2:1 win for the 360 simple as that. JAP won’t factor in this equation and EU install bases are roughly the same.

If you are referring to me, I have them on both systems becuase at the time we only had 1 xbox 360 in the house and I wanted a bluray player and my own game system, so I bought a ps3 and Cod 4 was free with purchase. My son didn’t like the ps3 controller but he like CoD 4, hence is why we bought CoD 4 for 360. THATS why I have it on both!!! I liked XBL better than PSN so I bought my own 360. We have 2 360s and 1 ps3(40gb) that collects dust. XBL gtag= Karnage XL, PSN ID= Justafett. Look me up if you want.

As of right now, the 360 is in the lead in MW2. In the long run(maybe next year to 2011) the PS3 will be dominant of the 360. PS3s are selling fast, and 360 does not have a huge lead. It just shows you that PS3s are in high demand more than 360, and the only thing that was holding it down was the price tag. The only thing we need is God of War III and it will take the lead(Americans love God of War). PS3s are pretty much over 360 everywhere except North America. Almost in lead again in Europe. My prediction is that the sales will eventually even out. COD4 was basically even with the consoles. 360 had little over a million lead over the PS3 version, and that was 2007-2008.

PC gaming is for grandparents and fat slob WoW players.

The only reason you don’t hear the “kiddies screaming” on PSN is because only %10 of players ACTUALLY USE HEADSETS.
Get into a REAL online community and maybe you’ll understand.
I will own this game for 360 and rent it for PS3 (yes, I also own both). I’ll rent it on PS3 just to play with the 1/100th of my online gaming friends who were stupid enough to get a PS3 instead of an XBox.

Excuse me? What developer that has made a game on both systems has admitted the PS3 is a better console? They HAVE admitted that is is MUCH easier to make games on the 360 and BTW its MUCH more profitable. And check your numbers PS3 fails at pretty much everything.. its just a bluray player that happens to play games.

If somebody I know happens to study psychology, I would recommend to make Xbox360 fanboyism his thesis, then perhaps we’ll have a better understanding why one would heavily defend the platform he has. Be open, folks, both consoles have their own merits. PS3 has Blu-Ray and its exclusives, as well as 360 with its most comfortable controller and its own share of exclusives. If you can only afford one, stick with it and don’t bash the other because the 360 or PS3 is the only you can have. Maybe there is truth to the article, and it’s probably due to what’s called a “shift of market forces”. Sony might become the more dominant console later, but maybe not. It depends on how Microsoft or Sony chomp at each other for you $$$.

The REAL online community is PC its what started Multiplayer and it will always hold the multiplayer title if you look at numbers of specs (if you can understand them) every console has always been behind PC’s and soon Consoles will be nothing its a simplified PC and its running out of simplifications

This defending of consoles is stupid. I don’t understand why these owners diss something just because they don’t have it. I have both 360 and PS3 and find they both have great points. I bought the 360 purely because a lot more of it’s titles are 1080p and for the exclusives, but the PS3 is awesome because I don’t have to pay to play games online, so my copy of MW2 will definitely be for that.

Well, I do watch blurays on my ps3. And as far as wifi goes, that doesn’t matter to me, wired connection is always better than wireless and I dont use it. My ps3 has a wired connection and it has built in wifi. And XBL is not the same as PSN. That functionality is better on XBL and smother, its laid better. The damn PSN in store has to load up on your screen, its not instant. Plus, with XBL you can see exactly what your friends are doing. It doesnt just say your friends ID and “Call of Duty 4″ like PSN does. With XBL it says “playing Call of Duty 4: team death match on Vacant” It even lets you know if they are joinable or not. You dont see that on PSN. You can just send blind invites and pester your friends. lol. Like I said XBL functionality is alot better.

I’m really sick of these insane console fans spewing venom at the console that they don’t have. Both consoles are great. I personally dislike the PS3 controller for FPS’s but love it for sports games. So I’ll be buying COD on the xbox. If you prefer the ps3 for fps’s then get the game for that system. Noone needs to angrily justify their like of a system. It’s the same game either way, and either way there will be plenty of people online to compete with.

We already know the reason Assassin’s Creed II for the PS3 is favored by Gamers is because of the exclusive connectivity of Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines for the PSP.

The only reason the PS3 version may sell so good is because of the number of people Microsoft banned from Xbox Live. Sure it’s fine to ban the people playing on modified console’s but when they are even banning legitimate unmodified console’s saying they were playing burnt game’s is a little much. I’m read alot of forum’s recently and have noticed ALOT of Xbox 360 owners refusing to purchase another 360 knowing they can be banned for BS at any time so they went and purchased a PS3. Microsoft has brought it on themselves this time around and in my opinion they deserve it. I myself own a PS3, Wii, and 360. I own Modern Warfare 2 on PS3 and 360 and I can honestly say I will spend most of my time on the 360 version just because the game feel’s so much better due to the controller.
