Hands-on photos: HTC Droid Eris (Sprint Hero)

Verizon and HTC have made the Droid Eris official and we have some lovely high quality hands-on photos of the device for you to check out - ahead of its big launch alongside its bigger brother, the Motorola Droid.

The photos come to us courtesy of Pocket-Lint, who have uploaded a nice gallery on their website for you to check out. If you didn’t know already the Droid Eris is basically identical to the HTC Hero on Sprint, so we have a feeling that the guys at Sprint are going to be feeling a bit ‘miffed’ shall we say with HTC.

Specs include a 3.2-inch display, Qualcomm MSM 7600, 528MHz chip, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi and a 3.5mm audio jack.

We also can confirm that the Droid Eris will run on Android 1.5 and will feature the Sense User Interface and not Android 2.0 which the Motorola Droid will run on.

Check out the full hands-on gallery over at Pocket-Lint and let us know what you think.
