MSN New Look: Integrated Facebook and Twitter feeds

Microsoft have been very busy lately, they have launched Bing, then Windows 7 and now they are planning a new look for their MSN homepage. The new look will offer some cool social networking features, such as integrated Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Normally when a website like MSN offers a new look there are only slight changes, but this new look is a major change. According to PC World, MSN have said that they made the change to get rid of all the clutter that is on the current portal as the homepage was outdated

The update is still not live, but the public have been given the chance to have a sneak peak by going to the MSN site here. Microsoft say that the new MSN homepage will go live early in 2010 and is the first stage to offer the entire MSN network a refreshed look.

The biggest change that visitors will notice is that the blue background has gone; in its place is a white background. The new homepage has also lost its trademark blue links to their own content; the overall look is sleeker and more modern looking.

I like the new look; however, I wish the local temperature was still posted at the top of the page. Often times, I want to know what the temperature is outside. That’s always been helpful to me. Other than that, it looks Great!

I don’t like it. It’s more difficult to read then before. MSN prior page had much more info with a few glances of the eye. Too much navigating, now..

I hate it. Too much white space makes it hard on the eyes. I liked the old one much better. It had a very distinct design. The new design looks like just another site.

I do not like the new look. Also, it came without warning. Nothing is where it should be (or, used to be). And the top stories seem now to be entertainment. I now need to find a new home page. Afterall, I chose the original MSN page for its “old” look and its functionality. Thanks. SH
