Modern Warfare 2: Pirated Xbox 360 version already available

It has been revealed that a pirated version of the upcoming and highly anticipated shooter Modern Warfare 2, is already making its way around file sharing websites, for use on modded Xbox 360 consoles.

As reported from MCV, it is thought that Microsoft are already aware of the problem, but have declined to comment until further investigations have been made.

With such hype towards a game, we kind of expected that the game would become available via illegal routes before the official release date. Judging by the amount of leaked videos on places like YouTube, it seems as if many retailers are already selling the game anyway.

What are your thoughts on this? We already know that the multiplayer leaderboards will be refreshed on release (10th November), but do you think Activision / Infinity Ward should take action against the pirates?

    Fingers crossed, those with pirated versions, will connect to the Live Network, play Modern Warfare 2 and hopefully get their Xbox accounts and modded xbox banned

    You don’t get your live account banned just your xbox. If the games were sold at a lower price there would be no need for modding. Just look at the price of the pc version compared to the 360/ps3 version.

    I have been playing the new MW2 for a few days now on my modded xbox and as of today I got banned. I know a couple others too. Last I saw there were 6500 people online playing. Thats a lot of banned xbox’s

    lol you lot are just hating ‘cuz your paying over £50 for a game, while i get mine free :) , ive been playing MW2 online for the past few days and dont care if i get banned, its worth it tbh, i will just get another xbox and do it all again, but obviously not play the games before they are out, i just couldnt wait!

    i think all those xbox losers should get banned 4 ever! the problem is that infinity ward are biased to xbox. also the xbox is easily hacked and edited. that is why it is so cheap becuase it is useless. it just shows that the worlds biggest computing group is a pile of bs!
    ps3 is more expensive cos it is better

    my friend had the game. i played one game online and i knew i would not buy this game. it is a horrible game. i already preorderd it 2 months ago. i was really excited until i played and i am really disappointed

    Seriously you are a sad loser. It’s not hard to have an xbox modded and burn an image. Some of us choose to wait and pay to keep games being made. If you don’t have anything to say keep your sad gimp mouth closed.

    If I get banned I’ll just be getting a new Xbox for free, so it doesn’t matter. lol. I played Gears of War 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum well before the release dates and never got banned, so I’m not expecting to. I just want you to know that if I do, it won’t hurt me in any way.

    Sounds like you’re just jealous. Btw, MW2 is the best game I’ve ever played. You’ll like it when it’s released; the smart ones are playing and loving it now.

    i love you HAHAHAH :’) i agree with you id do exactly the same the only gimps around here are the ones that believe pirating the game will stop them making them BULLSHIT! they make enough money from sales anyway and for doing over on other companies maybe if they dropped the price to around £20 thats more acceptable. now go play MF2 oh wait you cant :’)

    I jus got a copy yesterday & I play it on my modded 360..I have about 50 games..all bootleg versions..& this game will blow u away!!!especially the terrorist mission & jetskiing down a mountain!!!you gotta be stupid to wait til the 10 to play it!!!BEST GAME EVER!!!x-D

    I got my official version of MF2 today via play.com
    ive always used play to buy games as I know they send them earlyer and you usually get them before release date
    how would I get around this I I get banned?

    You are stupid. Even at way lower price points, games are wildly pirated. Ever checked how many iPhone games have been legally purchased?

    Also, have you noticed game companies closing down and firing people in the last months?

    Who cares if u get banned? i had my xbox modded for about a year and havnt gotten banned yet and i have been playin MW2 for a week almost… And if i do get banned i can just buy a new xbox from ebay.. got my xbox about more then a year ago for 97 dollars from ebay and today i went on ebay and saw so many xbox 360s around 100 dollars..
