Modern Warfare 2: Microsoft reiterate stance on Xbox 360 piracy

Following on from our post yesterday which informed you about a pirated version of Modern Warfare 2, which is already in circulation for use on modded Xbox 360 consoles, Microsoft has today issued a fresh statement in relation to the news.

While not actually pointing out MW2 in their statement, it’s blatently obvious that they are talking about the Modern Warfare 2 pirates, as we also mentioned yesterday that Microsoft were currently ‘investigating’ the situation further.

As VG247 reports today though, Microsoft have made a fresh warning to all of those planning to bypass a retail copy in favor of a pirated version.

You can read the whole statement over at VG247, but we couldn’t help but post the juicy bit underneath. Let us know your thoughts on Microsoft’s statement.

”All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox Live terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live.”

Isn’t this a funny story, these companies think they know so much and like to flex their muscles for the kids. The fact is they can’t do a dammned thing about piracy or playing pirated copies on their consoles, search for microsoft torrents and you will see. The only people with any skill at these companies are the accounting departments. One question that has to be asked of these douchebags is ” Who buys the console games kids?? NO FRIGGIN WAY!! Parents do, ie. ME!! Will I buy games from these developers in any format?
Some games are just not for the consoles, I don’t give a shit what anyone says. A driving game is always better on console as are the fighting type games but FPS?? get real, how the frig can you aim with a controller? If a developer does not want to develop PC games it’s fine but don’t try and treat PC users like children and bring out totally useless products which the customers feel so strongly about.
Then you ask the most stupid person in the organisation to try and BULLSHIT his way into the headlines. The losses are going to be huge, not with MW2 but with all Activision/IW products and these companies have no foresight whatsoever. Here is a scenario for you… I am in a store buying Christmas gifts, which Publisher/Developer games will I buy? This grudge will be held for a long long time with a lot of people and I am on top of this list.
I see bleak times for IW and I can’t wait to play single player PIRATED copy as multiplayer will be useless.
We will see how bogus these signatures are when the few PC players who do buy the game can’t find anyone to play with.

Money is the root of all Activision/Infinity Ward
