Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 not trusted with Royal Mail

Turns out that many retailers are starting to turn their back on the Royal Mail, as it looks as if the strike may continue throughout this month. One UK retailer in particular has told us that they will be using a different courier than usual, in order to ensure that copies of Modern Warfare 2 arrive in time for the November 10th release date.

This retailer just so happens to be Play.com, probably one of the most popular sources for online game sales. We’ve bought from them in the past and can definitely remember them sticking with Royal Mail with previous orders.

One strike too many though it seems, we can’t blame them. November 10th shall be forever known as ‘Modern Warfare 2 day’, nothing shall get in the way!

Below is a portion of the email we received:

”To ensure we get your order to you by the release date of Tuesday 10th November we will be dispatching this with a courier and not Royal Mail”

Yes I received this very same message with my Play order, glad it’s gone this way as I was concerned that it might have been severely with Royal Mail over-wise.

    MW2 10/11/09 it’s the place to be! :)

does that mean that someone will need to sign for the game when it is deliverd ? i will be at uni all day tuseday so i hope they just put it through the door.

      mclaughlin180 –

I would imagine so, couriers usually require a signature,so to be safe you should check with who you bought from and make sure you give them delivery instructions.

Send em an email :D Hope this helps.

  7. johnboy says:

called play.com today having not recieved my “guaranteed” copy of modern warfare 2,and was told that the courier chosen for the delivery wasnt capable of delivering everyones copy,so some have been sent my royal mail as per usual…….
and they are still cataloging all the complaints over missed cod deliveries and can’t give me anymore information ……this company has become farcical and i wont be using them again for release date games!

Play.com failed to deliver my guaranteed copy, its now 16.28pm on the 12th and I still have NOT got it, I feel really bad because my Nan bought me this a special present, Play.com are not interested, my mum spent 40 minutes on the phone to them and they would not help, stupid thing is I can now buy it for £15.00 less than my Nan paid to Play.com in any shop in town… play.com have bitten off more than they can chew and let many people down.

I say thats a good call. If COD didn’t show up on time I’m sure there would be a few angry mobs forming around the world.
